The 2020 event was the third time a round of the FIA Electric Regularity Rally was run in Iceland under the name of ON eRally Iceland. It was a strange year, governed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Icelandic round was originally slotted to be the fourth event of the calendar, but ended up being the first in a really curtailed year.
The organiser of the event was Kvartmiluklubburinn on behalf of the Icelandic Motorsport Association (AKÍS).
This was also the first year FIA Electric and New Energies Commission included in the results not only the results from the regularities, but also something called the performance index. The performance index is a comparative index between the manufacturers’ stated power usage (kW/km) and the real power usage.
